New Tutorial Is Almost Ready

I am finishing the new tutorial, Faux Porcelain Heart Necklace with Hand-Made Necklace Ends.

This tutorial will explain how to make the focal pendant for the necklace, as well as the necklace ends, and how to put it all together into a multi-string necklace with seed beads and fresh-water pearls. The resulting necklace is very delicate and romantic, perfect for any time of the year.

The heart pendant recreates the look of hand-sculpted porcelain in polymer clay. My Grandma used to have a beautiful collection of porcelain vases and trinket boxes. They were very delicate, with tiny hand-sculpted flowers. I remember my fascination with them when I was a little girl...

For this necklace, I decided to make a pair of matching polymer clay necklace ends, because anything metal seemed a bit out of place with this design. Making them is quite easy, actually. In fact, the whole project is rather simple, and does not require any previous experience with polymer clay. List of tools and materials is also short and simple. You do not even need a pasta machine to do it!

This tutorial shall be available by the end of February. Please join my mailing list to be notified when the tutorial is ready.

Polymer Clay Chameleon:

Zuleykha makes the most charming polymer clay charm bracelets. My favorites are the ones with her pretty and bright flowers and leaves. Here are only a few examples. You can find more in her shop on

New Steampunk Butterflies:

I just finished two new butterflies. Both are in purple and lilac colors. In fact, I used the same cane for the “mechanic” wings on both of them.

Their design is very similar to the one described in my Steampunk Butterfly Tutorial, except this time I used a stamp made out of filigree parts I used earlier.

My Faux Cloisonne Heart in a Treasury

Helen of included one of my heart pendants in her beautiful treasury:

I am especially flattered by her choice, because the works that Helen offers in her shop are AMAZING. She works mostly with felt and a little bit with polymer clay, and every one of her designs is elegant and romantic. Visiting her shop, make sure to look through Helen's gallery of SOLD items. I just love her felted necklaces in there!

Polymer Clay Chameleon:

The polymer clay artist whose works I want to show you today is Barb Fajardo. She used to make the most beautiful and colorful swirl beads I've ever seen. Around 2005-2006 she switched to these fantasy flower beads, with rich texture and great colors.
